Description

BL ♂: 5-6 mm; ♀: 5.6-6.3 mm. Body pale yellow, wings broad and transparant with a yellowish tinge. Eyes reduced. Male and female similair, but females are more ovate compared to the more or less heart-shaped males. A detailed description, including drawings and photo's, can be found in D'Urso & Grasso (2009).

Ecology

A troglobitic species, adults and nymphs feed on roots in caves.

Distribution

Only known from one cave in the Iblei Mountains (Sicily, Italy).
