Neophilaenus albipennis

Description

BL ♂♀: 4.5-5.6 mm. Forebody and forewings nearly without hairs. Frons strongly arched. Forebody more or less brownish, vertex relatively short. Forewings basally dark, apically with a distinct diagonal stripe. Males usually darker colored than females. Genital styles without mouth-shaped indentation. Aedeagus with a slender shaft and triangular lateral lobes which are frayed out below.

Ecology

Monophagous on Brachypodium pinnatum in grassland and open forests.

Distribution

Distributed througout Central- and East-Europe.
