Nomenclature
Kirkaldy (1907) placed this species in a new genus (Iberia Kirkaldy, 1907) based on the presence of four subapical cells. After various authors treated this taxon either as a good genus or a synonym of Stegelytra, Wei et al. (2006) finally reinstated the synonymy of Iberia under Stegelytra.
