Ecology
Given host plants are Quercus aegilops, Q. libani and Q. infectoria (Wei, Webb & Whang, 2006).
Distribution
Described from Iraq (Ghauri, 1972). Later, it was also recorded from Iran (e.g. Dlabola, 1974 [as Stegelytra sororcula Dlabola, 1974]; Mozaffarian & Wilson, 2016).
Nomenclature
Originally, this species was placed in a new genus as Iraqerus neveosparsus Ghauri, 1972. Wei et al. (2006) synonymised Iraqerus with Stegelytra, leading to its current combination: Stegelytra neveosparsus (Ghayri, 1972). Dlabola (1974) described Stegelytra sororcula Dlabola, 1974 from Iran, which was synonymised with Stegelytra neveosparsus (Ghayri, 1972) by Wei et al. (2006).
